- Southampton have confirmed the signing of the Uruguay defender Martín Cáceres, who has joined on a short-term deal until the end of the season.
- The former Barcelona, Juventus and Sevilla centre-back, a free agent since June, underwent a medical in Southampton last week but the transfer was delayed after the death of his brother in their homeland.
- Cáceres has now completed the move and the Saints hope that he will strengthen their defence after the departure of José Fonte to West Ham during the January transfer window and the ankle injury suffered by Virgil van Dijk, who is not expected to return until at least April

- 이제 카세레스는 사우스햄튼으로의 이적을 마무리했으며, 사우스햄튼은 그의 합류로 인해 지난 겨울 이적시장을 통해 웨스트햄으로 떠난 조세 폰테와 발목 부상으로 인해 오는 4월까지 출전이 불가능한 피르힐 반 다이크의 공백을 채워줄수 있길 기대하고 있다.
