[Daily Mail] Tottenham want to sign Ross Barkley from Everton as Mauricio Pochettino leads queue for England playmaker

Tottenham are at the front of the queue to sign Ross Barkley from Everton this summer.

Everton playmaker Barkley is back in the England squad this week after hitting brilliant form in the Premier League since the turn of the year.

Long-time admirers Tottenham have hardened their interest in the 23-year-old as he continues to prevaricate over his future at Goodison Park.

Everton want Barkley to extend his contract as his current deal expires at the end of next season.

And although the Liverpudlian is open to staying at his boyhood club, he said in a recent interview with Sportsmail columnist Jamie Redknapp that his ambition was to play in the Champions League and win trophies.

Tottenham have tracked Barkley since he first broke into the Everton team but have in the past harboured slight doubts about his decision-making and the speed with which he uses the ball.

에버튼은 다음 시즌후 계약이 만료되는 바클리와 계약 연장을 진행하길 원하고 있고, 바클리 역시 그의 보이후드 클럽인 에버튼을 떠나고 싶진 않지만 최근 인터뷰애서 챔피언스리그 출전과 트로피에 대한 열망을 드러내 이적쪽으로 무게가 실리고 있는 상황이다.

그가 에버튼의 성인팀에 데뷔하던때부터 그를 모니터해왔던 토트넘은 그의 결정력과 볼을 갖고 있을때의 스피드에 대해 의문을 품으며 이적을 적극적으로 진행시키지 않았던것으로 알려지고 있다.
